The Leprosy Mission International (TLM) is a Christian based<br \/>\norganization with the goal of eliminating leprosy and its consequences around the world. As part<br \/>\nof its mission, TLM works with local partners to develop projects to address the challenges<br \/>\nassociated with leprosy in the Ethiopia where it works. The Leprosy Mission International has<br \/>\nbeen supporting leprosy work in Ethiopia since the 1950s, mainly through our partners at the All<br \/>\nAfrica leprosy Rehabilitation and Training Centre (ALERT). In the 1990s, we started partnering<br \/>\nwith the Ethiopia National Association of Persons Affected by Leprosy (ENAPAL). In 2013, The<br \/>\nLeprosy Mission International &#8211; Ethiopia registered as an international NGO with the Charities<br \/>\nand Societies Agency.<br \/>\nThe Director of Leprosy Mission International Mr. Brent Morgan recently visited Ethiopia to<br \/>\ndiscuss activities that the mission has been engaged in, alongside its partners, and the<br \/>\nEthiopian Ministry of Health. During the trip, the Director visited relevant partners (ENAPAL,<br \/>\nALVRA, GRLA, ECDD, and ZOA), leprosy affected communities and associations, and he<br \/>\nattended and visited churches led by those people affected by leprosy. The Director also visited<br \/>\nactivities conducted by ALERT Hospitals, and AHARI research institute. He also met and<br \/>\ndiscussed with TLMI \u2013Ethiopia\u2019s board of directors about the organization.<br \/>\nThe Director&amp;#39;s trip to Ethiopia was successful, and it provided a valuable opportunity for Leprosy<br \/>\nMission International to build relationships with its partners, and gain an understanding of the<br \/>\nissues faced by those affected by leprosy. The visit strengthened existing partnerships,<br \/>\nimproved projects, and laid the groundwork for future collaboration. The Director\u2019s trip was<br \/>\nsuccessful in engaging with the relevant partners, stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health<br \/>\nThis visit was critical for our organization\u2019s success, and it is indicative of our commitment<br \/>\ntowards making a positive impact in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This report provides an overview of the trip made by Mr. Brent Morgan, Director of Leprosy Mission International, to Ethiopia.
